Should UGC Creators Charge for Raw Footage?

Many creators charge separately for raw footage because it lets a brand build more ads than the finished video alone. Whatever you decide, say in writing what the brand can make from it and for how long.

What the brand gets

Raw clips let a brand cut new versions, test hooks and reuse parts of your shoot. That is more than a finished edit, even if the files take you no extra time to hand over.

Agree the rules for edits

Decide whether the brand can cut, caption, combine or use AI on the footage. Check that usage rights apply to new edits and that they end on the same date.

How to price it

There is no standard price. Some creators add a flat fee, and others add a percentage of the content rate. Pick one simple approach and show it as its own line on your quote.

Offer a simple alternative

If the fee is a sticking point, offer extra hooks or a second edit instead. The brand gets more to test, and you keep control of how your footage is used.
