How Much to Charge for UGC Usage Rights
A useful quote starts with a defined scope. There is no universal fee in this calculator: its output is an illustrative starting point for your conversation, not a market tariff.
Start with the content rate
Enter your base content-production fee, then choose organic, paid ads or creator-handle usage. Keep the resulting rights fee separate from that content fee. You can negotiate either amount independently.
Understand the model
For 30 days, UGCPing’s illustrative model uses 15% of the content rate for organic use, 50% for paid ads and 75% for creator-handle ads. Duration multipliers are 1, 1.6, 2, 3.5 and 5 for 30, 60, 90, 180 and 365 days. The range is 25% below and above the estimate.
See one concrete example
With a $300 content rate and 30 days of paid-ad usage, the model suggests a $150 usage fee, with a $112.50–$187.50 range. That does not mean the brand has agreed to pay $150. Enter the actual agreed amount when you save your deal.
Adjust for the actual permission
Discuss platforms, countries, exclusivity, ad spend, editing permission and the number of assets. The calculator assumes non-exclusive use in one country and does not price those additional conditions. Broader permission deserves its own conversation.
Give the quote an expiry
A usage quote should describe both what the brand can do and how long it can do it. Save the agreed period and fee once the brand accepts, then use the expiry reminder to decide whether to offer another period.
